Skin Rejuvenation with Your Own Blood
Initially, a small amount of your own blood will be extracted. In simplified terms, the blood platelets (thrombocytes) contained in the blood have a regenerative and thus rejuvenating effect. Centrifugation is used to divide your blood up into its “component parts”, therefore enabling us to obtain precisely these valuable blood platelets. The thrombocyte concentrate is known as “platelet-rich plasma” (PRP).
What Is the Exact Procedure?
After blood has been taken and centrifugation of your blood carried out, the areas to be treated are disinfected and if needed, anesthetized locally with an anesthetic cream. After the short time required for the cream to take effect, PRP is introduced into the skin with precision using very fine needles.
PRP activates your autologous stem cells and produces regenerative growth factors, which enable an external rejuvenation of the areas treated.
Occasionally, small bruises, reddening and slight swelling occur after treatment. You will be fully mobile after treatment and able to go back to work without any restrictions. You can usually apply make-up on the day after facial treatment with PRP.
You have the option of combining this procedure with other types of treatment. PRP can also be applied to intensify the effect of stem cell treatment. The application of PRP and bioidentical hormones often achieves excellent skin rejuvenation results.
